When you come closer, you begin to establish a dialogue with “vulnerability.”
Only when you listen carefully is there a possibility of understanding.
When you bend down, tilt your head, or stand on tiptoe, you can truly feel that discomfort and unease.
Only in this way can a “safe space” be created.
Only under this condition can a story be told.
Painful experiences are often difficult to articulate. People long for release, yet due to uncertainty about their environment and others, they choose silence, burying these memories deep within themselves. This installation functions as a “container,” combining vision, sound, and bodily sensation to invite viewers to build a “safe space” together with the work, allowing these fragile stories to find an outlet.
So far, the installation has collected three real stories: the anxiety of near bankruptcy at the beginning of a startup journey, the disorientation of arriving in London for the first time, and an unspoken experience of assault from several years ago. Viewers must actively approach and trigger the sensor to hear these whispers, or look through the holes into the interior. Throughout the process, bodily discomfort becomes part of the communication.
